The bishops of Bressanone saw this as early as 1577. They built their summer residence with us back then along with the Velthurns Renaissance castle that is still worth a visit today. The beautiful buildings in the village are also a sight to behold. And the year-round sunshine, many hiking trails and tasty chestnuts in autumn delight the spirits of our guests.
2) You are on holiday in the centre of South Tyrol.
Velturno is centrally located in the middle of the Val d’Isarco, the “gateway to the Dolomites”. This makes it the ideal starting point for a discovery tour of South Tyrol. The cities of Merano, Chiusa, Bolzano, Vipiteno and Bressanone, the Val Gardena and the Alpe di Siusi are just a few of the destinations within easy reach.
